24 January 2011

This weekend we loaded up the car with food and drink and headed for the beach. We had a great barbecue with some new friends from the Czech Republic. Mathias helped a lot getting wood for the fire from the jungle. He loves burning dry palm leaves that ignite like gunpowder with just a spark. After lunch we spent the afternoon snorkeling and trying to have a siesta (without much success) Emily and Gisela spent about 2 hours snorkeling non-stop. It’s great to see Emily’s face when she comes back from snorkeling with all the stories she has of the things she was able to see underwater. I pulled out this starfish which is very common in this area so we could take a few pictures.
