The 1st of October is International Prayer Day at World Vision. The more than 40,000 employees that World Vision has across the world get together to thank God for the blessings received over the last year. In the Solomon Islands we had 3 main activities to celebrate the day:
1. A thanks giving worship in one of the churches close to the office
2. After the church service we had a barbecue at the office which included hotdogs, hamburgers and a dangerous amount of eggs
3. My favourite time of the day was the visit to the Hospital children ward. We visited and took gifts for the children which included a personal hygiene box and equipment for the wards (cleaning materials, a push cart for the nurses and bits and pieces) I enjoyed talking and playing with the children so much. It was great fun and made me so thankful that my children are healthy and strong and do not have to go through what these brave little kids and their parents face in terms of receiving health care at a government Hospital in the Solomon Islands. Indeed we are so lucky but always find something to complain about…
